So… happy new year? I don’t know about you, but I feel like this has been the SLOWEST start to a new year, ever. I’ve talked to countless people who feel like January moved at a snail’s pace as they navigated illness, accidents, communication breakdowns, technology glitches, and white-hot emotions. Now here we are in February and it feels like “Okay, so let’s get this year started now. Oh, crap… we missed a month.”
If you’re feeling “behind,” never fear. You are a timeless, limitless being, so 31 days are nothing in the grand scheme of your existence. Here’s a plan to start February fresh and kick off this year YOUR way:
Step 1 – Ground yourself. Yeah, I know, I’m grinding away on that old tune again but I only harp on it so much because it’s THAT IMPORTANT. But if you’ve read The Lightworker’s Guide to Grounding Energy, you already knew that. So ground some more, it’s a great way to start most anything.
Step 2 – Create some order. I personally find it difficult to get clarity if my immediate surroundings are a mess, or if my brain is in disarray. I’m not suggesting you take the next six weeks to KonMari your home (although… I’m not saying NOT to do that, either. It truly is life-changing.) but I am suggesting you ask yourself this:
What is most optimal to ‘clean up’ today?
It might be a conversation that didn’t end well, some bills that need to get paid, a sink full of dishes, or a desk piled with papers and stuff. Take some time to clean that shizzle up and watch how much clearer your brain becomes. This will prep and prime you for the next step.
Step 3 – Get clear. What do you want? If you’ve already got a Boom Book and cracked it open, then you’ve started working on this step already. But it can be hard to get any traction without being grounded and having a clear head (hence, steps 1 and 2). If you don’t have a Boom Book yet, you can get yours on Amazon and while you’re waiting, start thinking on what it is that you’d really love to be, do, and have in this 2019. Start writing it down… mind map, decoupage, vision board, Spotify playlist, whatever your jam is, get cranking on it.
I’ve got a few irons in the fire (I know this comes as no surprise to you) but honestly, the past 30 days have been rough for me, too. I got super sick, then I had a chemical peel on my face (which was super painful and I couldn’t go out in public for about 9 days)… then one of my kids had pneumonia and another one had some extensive allergy testing, then we had like 3 blizzards in a single week which is pretty unusual for where I live… yeah it’s been quite a long haul since Christmas. I was basically unable to work from Christmas until about a week ago. So um, yeah. I feel ya with this “slow start” stuff.
But we press onward and we look forward and I’m in full 2019 swing now. (here, on Feb 1, LOL). Let’s just make sure you have something amazing to look forward TO, yes? (HINT: follow steps 1-3 above, and you will!).
